About our Courses
We run a number of different backwoods and bushcraft courses, Along with the Adventure Pioneers teaching camp craft that we can tailor to suite your needs and experience. Our aim is to start with an introduction into backwoodsmanship and bushcraft that will enable you to gain practical hands on experience without the fear of feeling out of your depth. Each aspect of the course is designed to encourage you to get the most out of the experience, and for you to improve at your own pace in a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. All the Courses and skills days are run outdoors and from a base camp, and always start with basic health and safety requirements and expected behavior.
We offer backwoods and bushcraft training, or tailored tuition for individuals, small groups, families, Schools, youth groups, etc. these can run as one day, two day one night, and two day two night courses. We can also organize half day tuition on request covering a number of related topics for schools and youth groups, ask for details. We can also come to your venue. all the above is available at

We run one day courses that include different aspects of the above depending on your needs.
Also where appropriate selection and erection of various sleeping and utility shelters, fire lighting, correct and safe use of axe, knife, and saw
The courses generally Start at 10.00am with an introduction to what we will be doing including site safety and expected behavior.
You will then receive the relevant training for your particular need, this could include Instruction in site selection, and putting up bashers. Camp hygiene, food storage and preparation, Safe use of an axe and saw, fire lighting and different fires, wood selection etc. we could also show you how to use a knife when making camp gadgets/utensil's, the days instruction will end with a summery of the days activities, with questions and answers.
we can also cater for your particular needs, this may include the right fire for the job, fire safety, kitchen hygiene, safe use of knife preparing food. Cooking on an open fire, with and without utensil's. Set and light a fire, Prepare and cook your own lunch on the fire. There is always a fire burning at the base camp and participants can have a brew and rest time when they fell the need. At the end of the day before we clear up we always do a what went well including questions and answers with end of camp at 4.00 pm?

Pioneering is perfect for developing team building and leadership skills. We use a number of different problem solving scenarios, that are both challenging and adventuresses to promote, positive interpersonal development.
